"I walked into Foot Solutions on Saturday, January 21,2006, tried on a pair of Chung Shi Weather shoes, purchased them while wearing them, and walked out into a new world of a nearly pain-free existence. I haven't had any other shoes on since. I had not slept nor walked without some low-level pain for some years. I have now slept soundly for five nights without waking up from discomfort in my hips, knees or lower back. I have taken rigorous hikes only to feel wonderfully free of pain. And how could this be possible because of these shoes? In going to my physical therapist, he pointed out with some delight that because of the construction, one is forced into alignment with the pelvic region in a somewhat forward position with the rib cage somewhat elevated, something he had been trying to get me to learn to do on my own. The shoes do it for me and certainly help me to be conscious of it. One can rest on the forward part of the shoe feeling comfortable but being aware that the back of the leg is being exercised and stretched. By resting on the backward part of the shoe, the reverse occurs. I don't pretend to understand the physiology. But I do understand the absence of pain, the release of energy and sense of well being. I will very shortly be purchasing another pair of Chung Shi's or MBT's; meantime, I’ll dress for more formal occasions in such a way that I can still wear my Chung Shi's. "First off, I am 50 years old and have tried to maintain an active lifestyle all my life. I've always thought that if your feet hurt the rest of you will also hurt.
